Verdict
Bacanora is an underserved category, and Kilinga is one of the better US-distributed Sonoran producers. The blanco at 42% is a reasonable introduction to what Pacifica agave tastes like, drier and herbal-er than any Oaxaca bottle, though the ceiling is set by the category's usual proof restraint. Buy for regional completeness. Silvestre below is the pick if you can find both.
Sonoran Pacifica, as itself
Tasting notes
Nose: Dry desert herb with light pepper
Palate: 42% – Kilinga's blanco bacanora reads cleanly desert-Sonoran, with the Pacifica agave's drier, thinner profile than Oaxacan angustifolia; at 42% it has enough body to deliver the place
Finish: Dry, warm, medium
The bottom line
Buy as a Sonora entry; Silvestre is the pick
