Verdict
Kilinga's silvestre is the bottle we reach for when we want to make the case for bacanora. The wild-harvest agave material gives this release a sharper, drier, more unmistakably Sonoran character than the cultivated blanco. Buy for a Sonora shelf; drink it alongside the regional Zacatecas and Chihuahua bottles in the catalog to understand what the non-Oaxaca mezcal-adjacent spirits are actually doing.
Wild Pacifica is where Sonora stops being polite
Tasting notes
Nose: Dry sage, cracked pepper, hot sand, a green edge
Palate: 40% – silvestre material lets the Sonoran desert character read louder than in the standard blanco; even at 40%, the aromatic intensity is higher than the other Kilinga releases
Finish: Dry, warm – medium-long
The bottom line
The Kilinga to buy is the wild one. The clearest argument for Sonora in the glass
