Verdict
Luminar's reposado sits alongside its siblings in the category's no-effort wing. At 40% the tequilana can't carry the rest and the bottle comes through like a shelf filler priced for shelf volume. The barrel has nothing to work with. There are decent $25-40 mezcals with something to say; this bottle's only argument is its barcode.
Wood doesn't fix thin. It emphasizes it
Tasting notes
Nose: Light oak – then faint caramel, cooked agave, industrial sweetness
Palate: 40% is the wrong proof to support a reposado treatment, and the bottle shows it – the oak barely integrates because there isn't enough spirit under it to hold. Commercial-grade in every sense
Finish: Oak-warm, hollow – short
The bottom line
Skip regardless of price. The whole Luminar line is best avoided
