Verdict
A credible bacanora from a category that hasn't built many reference bottles yet. Mazot Blanco presents pacifica agave without dressing it up, less sweet than espadín, drier on the palate, mineral rather than tropical. Pour it when you want to understand what bacanora is; it's a working entry even if the ceiling is modest.
Sonora isn't Oaxaca, and Mazot isn't pretending otherwise
Tasting notes
Nose: Green vegetal with a flinty mineral top
Palate: 47% with the pacifica's characteristic drier, less-sweet profile, this is what Sonora is supposed to taste like, presented cleanly, without Oaxaca trying to speak through it
Finish: Medium, dry, flinty
The bottom line
Pour it if you're exploring bacanora. Fair price
