Zacatecas blue agave mezcal – the regional surprise kept too quiet

Verdict
Mexicat Joven delivers honest Zacatecas blue agave mezcal at an entry spec – the regional difference from Oaxaca is there, just quietly. The category needs more visible Zacatecas and the proof here doesn't quite fly the flag. Pour for regional exploration; the Raicilla and Sotol in the same line are more committed bottles.
Zacatecas has a voice. This bottle whispers it
Tasting notes
Nose: Faint citrus, a clean vegetal top
Palate: 40% keeps this bottle in polite territory – the blue agave (tequilana in Zacatecas context) shows up, but without the concentration a higher proof would bring
Finish: Short-medium, clean, mild
The bottom line
Pour for regional curiosity. Don't hunt
