Verdict
Edgar "Jigy" Perez is a producer Michoacán-watchers should already know, and Mizquiri Pechuga is a good introduction, cupreata's round orchard register catches the pechuga's savory accents without drowning. One data point of consensus, but the liquid is credible enough to sit next to Real Minero pechugas and not blush. The pechuga category has a Michoacán answer, and this is one.
Michoacán pechuga at 48% is a reminder that the state can hold its own
Tasting notes
Nose: Cooked apple, roast corn, warm spice
Palate: 48% cupreata under a traditional pechuga macerate, orchard fruit, dried chile, and a mineral backbone. The pechuga accents rather than overwhelms
Finish: Warming, sweet-savory
The bottom line
Put in the legwork. Michoacán pechuga done right is rare
