Verdict
Palomas Mensajeras' Michoacán project is one of the cleaner cases for glass-aging in the category, and this alto is a good entry point to the house. Less intense than Palalma's Michoacán bottlings, more accessible in register, and honestly proofed. Reach for it as a gentler introduction to Michoacán before the azul bottle from the same producer.

Tasting notes
Nose: Wet stone over cooked agave – leaves, faint smoke, a mineral ring
Palate: 48.5% and soft around the edges from glass time – alto's characteristic sweetness and green herb legible, with the aging reading as polish rather than flattening
Finish: Quietly sweet, minerally
The bottom line
Reach for it before the more structured Palomas Mensajeras bottles
