Pierde Almas Conejo

The rabbit-agave bottling from a design-forward veteran

Score: 4.0/5 agaves

  • Region: Mexico
  • Price: $40–90 ($$)

Verdict

Conejo is the harder of Pierde Almas' rare-agave bottlings to locate, and the one where the brand's reputation for elegant presentation meets actual complexity in the glass. The herbal register is unusual for the category – most wild-agave bottles lean mineral or fruit, not sage. We'd put it alongside Pierde Almas' better pechuga release as evidence the label still matters. Go after it.

Pierde Almas has always dressed the bottle like art; the liquid catches up here

Tasting notes

Nose: Fresh sage with a thin floral note

Palate: Medium-bodied, herbal, slightly sweet at the center. Pierde Almas' house style (clean, restrained, bottle-design-first) shows up as a deliberate mid-weight character rather than any single flavor shout. Real proof assumed at 47-48%

Finish: Herbal, clean

The bottom line

The agave alone justifies the search. Presentation is bonus
