Papalometl Mezcal

Papalometl is Michoacán's word for cupreata. The naming overlaps with papalote (Guerrero) and the Linnean cupreata – three vocabularies for one plant. Papalometl-labeled mezcal comes mostly from Michoacán palenques south of Morelia, where the agave grows wild at altitude. The signature follows the cupreata register: bright, aromatic, vegetal-floral, with a long structural finish. Bottles run $60-$90 done seriously.
